Gorka Marquez has broken his silence after Strictly fans accused him of looking like he was "fuming" when Hamza Yassin and partner Jowita Przystal were announced as the winners.
The pro dancer, who was partnered with Helen Skelton, said "life moves on" as his fiancée Gemma Atkinson admitted she was "gutted" by the result, in a video on her InstaStory shared last night.
Wildlife cameraman Hamza and Jowita broke down in tears when they were announced as the winners, and while most contestants appeared cheerful at the result, Gorka looked less than impressed and was spotted stone-faced when the camera panned onto him.
In a video shared by radio presenter Gemma, as the pair walked to their hotel room, a tired Gorka said: "Let's go bed," with Gemma telling fans: "We are - I am gutted, I am gutted."
Gorka, who was walking slightly behind his wife, responded in a tired tone: "What can I say?" with Gemma replying "What can you say?"
The pro dancer, dressed in a black puffer then said: "Life moves on," with Gemma telling him: "You were both bloody fab."
She then produced a sparkly crown which the wardrobe department had made for their daughter Mia, three, with Gorka saying: "That's my trophy," and Gemma commenting: "Who needs a glitterball trophy when you have got a crown?"
The pair then thanked the public for voting for Gorka and Helen, before signing off. As well as Hamza, the pair competed against Fleur East and Molly Rainford for the trophy.
Today, the dad-of-one paid tribute to Hamza and Jowita. On his InstaStory, he shared a photo of the pair after their win and wrote: "The Champs!!! Congratulations to both of you for a great series!! #bravo."
Last night, Fans of the show quickly took to social media to share their thoughts of Gorka's stoney face, with one Twitter user questioning: "Was Gorka gutted or livid ? #StrictlyFinal"
Another penned: "ooh Gorka looks fuming here," while a third added: "Fleur and Vito so humble and happy for the winners. Gorka looks fuming."
Many fans believed he was right to look so upset and claimed he was "robbed" yet again. One user said: "Gorka is fuming and rightly so! Helen has won in so many ways. Good on her and she is my winner!"
Another agreed and slammed the final result, saying: "Nah that was fully the wrong call. Don’t get me wrong I loved Hamza throughout the series, but he wasn’t the best on the night so didn’t deserve the win! Poor Gorka’s wee face - Helen was robbed! #Strictly"
Gorka has been continuous in his praise for his dancing partner on the series, with Helen reciprocating the views. Prior to the final, presenter Helen thanked the show for helping her get her life back on track and admitted that no matter what the result, she felt like she'd already won.
She told The Mirror: "The fact that we’re here and we’re smiling and having a good time and we’ve spent all day every day together for the last three months and we’re still laughing and joking."
