Strictly Come Dancing viewers said they spotted Gorka looking "fuming" when Hamza Yassin and Jowita Przystal scooped the glitter ball trophy on Saturday night, but now Gorka Marquez has broken his silence.
The professional dancer, who was coupled up with Countryfile star Helen Skelton, said "life moves on" as his fiancée Gemma Atkinson took to Instagram to say that she was "gutted" by the result.
When Hamza and Jowita were revealed as the winners, the pair broke down in tears and whilst most of their fellow contestants appeared to be delighted at the news, Gorka was spotted looking rather glum when the camera panned onto him, writes The Mirror.
Gorka's wife Gemma shared footage of the pair heading back to their hotel room, and a tired Gorka said: "Let's go bed," and Gemma added: "We are - I am gutted, I am gutted."
Gorka looked at the camera and said: "What can I say?" with Gemma replying "What can you say?"
He added: "Life moves on," and Gemma said: "You were both bloody fab."
The radio presenter then showed her husband a sparkly crown which the wardrobe department had made for their daughter Mia, three, with Gorka saying: "That's my trophy," and Gemma commenting: "Who needs a glitterball trophy when you have got a crown?"
But the following day, Gorka took to Instagram to congratulate Hamza and Jowita. He shared a snap of the couple following their win and wrote: "The Champs!!! Congratulations to both of you for a great series!! #bravo."
After the Strictly final, fans took to social media to talk about Gorka's glum face, with one Twitter user writing: "Was Gorka gutted or livid ? #StrictlyFinal"
Whilst one added: "ooh Gorka looks fuming here," while a third added: "Fleur and Vito so humble and happy for the winners. Gorka looks fuming."
However, many fans said that they felt he had every right to look upset, claiming he was "robbed" of the glitter ball once again. One user said: "Gorka is fuming and rightly so! Helen has won in so many ways. Good on her and she is my winner!"
Another said: "Nah that was fully the wrong call. Don’t get me wrong I loved Hamza throughout the series, but he wasn’t the best on the night so didn’t deserve the win! Poor Gorka’s wee face - Helen was robbed! #Strictly"
