Strictly's Ellie Taylor admits funny reason daughter wasn't impressed with performance

Strictly Come Dancing hopeful Ellie Taylor left It Takes Two host Rylan Clark in hysterics on Tuesday, as she detailed why her young daughter wasn't happy about her debut performance.

Comedian Ellie and her professional dance partner Johannes Radebe wowed the judges on Saturday night with their first routine, getting them some great scores.

Ellie was visibly shocked as the judges, including Shirley Ballas, praised her dance and gave her a six, two sevens and an eight in week one.

But it seems not everyone was won over by the dance, as Rylan revealed on Tuesday that Ellie's own daughter wasn't impressed by something.

Elle then hilariously revealed that her little one was "sad" for a hilarious reason.

Rylan had said: "I heard there was someone who wasn't impressed with the dance though. Your daughter, she wasn't impressed with the Quickstep. Why, what did she want at the end?"

She explained: "Oh, she was sad that we didn't kiss... we'll save that for a dance off!"

Rylan joked back: "Give the public what they want, she's not silly, she's not silly."

Ellie shares her three-year-old daughter with her husband Phil Black, a CNN International reporter.

The comedian was worried ahead of her first performance, and admitted she wasn't expecting to get such good feedback and scores.

She said: "I really thought if I'm lucky, I'd get threes and fours. That is what was in my head so I was totally surprised."

Ellie agreed the comments and the fact she went out and did her first dance has given her a huge confidence boost.

She said: "It has made me go, 'I can go out there and I can do it'. I can remember the choreography which is the thing I was really worried about. I was just so petrified of blanking, and I didn't feel like that when I went out there, I was so pleased.

"The aim for this week is to get to that position, but we have obviously got less time to rehearse this one so the pressure is on."

Strictly's It Takes Two airs weeknights at 6:30pm on BBC Two and BBC iPlayer.
