Strictly Come Dancing star Ellie Simmonds was left covering her ears as Craig Revel Horwood delivered his cutting feedback to her foxtrot on Saturday evening.
The Paralympian danced with professional partner Nikita Kuzmin to the theme from Scooby Doo as the pair donned Velma and Shaggy outfits to embrace the spooky season for a Halloween spectacular.
Host Tess Daly stood with the pair as judges Craig, Shirley Ballas, Motsi Mabuse and Anton Du Beke delivered their feedback – but the comments were mixed.
Craig, dressed as a fabulous Morticia Addams, said the performance had lost ‘flow’, brutally concluding: “It wasn't my favourite, I've got to be honest. It was slightly boring, I've got to admit.”
As the live audience erupted in boos as the comments, host Tess told Ellie to close her ears, which Elie then did as she plugged her fingers and said: “I'm not listening. I'm not listening.”
However, the viewers at home were left equally cold by the dance routine, as many felt the choice of the Scooby theme was a mismatch to the pace of their dance.
Taking to Twitter, one fan wrote: “This song and dance don't really go together,” as another echoed: “Did I just watch the Scooby dance at the wrong speed?”
“Seems a bit slow this one for the music,” another echoed as a fellow fan wrote: “This is the most bizarre thing I've ever seen…”
Ahead of the show, the BBC released a video revealing the contestants' songs and dances for the upcoming Halloween special, with tunes ranging from Kate Bush’s Running Up That Hill to the Hocus Pocus hit I Put A Spell on You.
The sixth week of Strictly again saw the leaderboard shake-up following a number of shock exits so far this series, meaning nobody is safe from elimination as the remaining couples danced live for viewers' votes.
As the remaining Strictly contestants fought to impress the judging panel, Hamza Yassin was the one to watch, as he sat at the top of the leaderboard going into the weekend, followed by Helen Skelton and Fleur East.
This comes after the Strictly dance floor said goodbye to another celebrity last Sunday night, with Jayde Adams losing to Molly Rainford in the dreaded dance-off and becoming the fourth contestant to leave the competition alongside her partner Karen Haeur .
