Claudia Winkleman addressed claims made by fans online about a 'dangerous' new curse hitting contestants on Strictly Come Dancing, with an ominous comment at the start of Saturday's show.
For three weeks in a row, the Strictly result had sparked uproar amongst fans of the long-running BBC show, after Fleur East, Kym Marsh and Molly Rainford all fell into the bottom two at different times. All three are still in the competition after winning the dance-off in their respective weeks, but the fact that they even had to battle to stay on the show angered many people watching at home.
Over the past week, there has been plenty of discussion on Twitter about the 'middle of the leaderboard curse,' with the likes of Tony Adams and James Bye repeatedly defying bookies' predictions by never landing in the bottom two, despite regularly being at or near the bottom of the leaderboard.

And, with the evidence mounting up, Claudia went on record about what's been happening with the voting within moments of the Strictly Halloween special starting this weekend. With co-host Tess Dalt standing next to her, Claudia said: "So, for the last three weeks, a couple from the very middle of the leaderboard has been in the dance-off."
She added: "It really is a dangerous place to be," as audience members reacted with 'ooohs,' before Tess commented: "There really is everything to play for tonight."
There could well be another shock outcome this week as Tony Adams surprised everyone, not least himself, when he did an amazing Quickstep to kick off the show, with him and pro partner Katya Jones getting a series high score of 31 out of 40.
