There are four celebrities taking part in tonight's Strictly Come Dancing final who will have a tough evening ahead of them, but Welsh professional dancer Amy Dowden had a tricky time on the celebrity special of The Weakest Link, hilariously mishearing a question and banking zero pounds as the quiz against the clock got into the swing of things.
Amy, who was paired with EastEnders star James Bye in the latest series of Strictly, was asked a question by host Romesh Ranganathan that went: "What B is the word for a worn out car, a song with a strong beat and another word for a sausage?"
The dancer answered tentatively: "A Volkswagon Beetle?" But the answer was of course 'banger'. When the round was over, Romesh wasted no time telling the team they banked £750 out of a possible £2,000 and teased the Caerphilly star over her banking of no pounds and thinking the VW was an alternative name for a sausage.
"Amy, the pressure gets to people doesn't it?" he said. "And you had what we described in the game as a double whammy. You banked nothing and you answered 'Volkswagon Beetle."
Amy said she misheard the question saying: "I heard car then I heard bee..", to which Romesh said it was a 'sunny way' of looking at getting an answer completely wrong. The dancer was voted off later after identifying the Jamaican flag incorrectly, but she did improve on her banking skills, helping to raise thousands for charity.
The Strictly Come Dancing 2022 live final is on TV from 7.05pm on December 17. You can get updates, here.
