It may be nine months since Strictly Come Dancing's Amy Dowden tied the knot but the Caerphilly-born star and her husband, Ben Jones, are still living the newlywed dream. The couple, who own the Art in Motion dance academy together, have jetted off to the Maldives to celebrate their honeymoon.
Amy, 32, has given fans a glimpse of their getaway with a series of snaps shared on her Instagram profile. After thanking her mother-in-law for house-sitting, Amy shared a picture of the pair travelling with a suitcase as she told her 328k followers: "Honeymoon has begun!"
Amy and Ben got married in a stunning ceremony on Saturday, July 2, 2022 after a two-year delay due to the coronavirus pandemic. The pair tied the knot at a venue in Gower with many Strictly Come Dancing stars in attendance.

Amy, who hails from Caerphilly, said she "always knew" she wanted to get married in Wales. The television star chose to stick to her Welsh roots for most of the wedding, picking a bridal gown from Laura May in Cardiff and opting for Wales-based florist Jan Lima for the flowers, you can read more about this here.
Now Amy and Ben are enjoying some downtime in the Maldives with crystal clear seas, white sands and romantic dinners all featuring on the Strictly favourite's Instagram Story. In one image Amy and Ben posed on paddleboards as they set off on an adventure.
"Exploring the ocean with my husband!" Amy captioned the image as she knelt down on the board in a bikini with a paddle in hand. In a second Amy revealed the pair had gone snorkelling as she shared some video footage of the sea life below.
In another Amy and Ben got all dolled up as they posed in glamorous outfits under beach huts. Later, Amy sipped on a glass of fizz as she swung on an Instagrammable beach swing.
She captioned the image: "Having the best time with my husband #honeymoon #blessed #happy #maldives." At the time of writing over 18,000 people had liked the post with many of Amy's celebrity friends commenting.
"Gorgeous babes!" wrote BBC Radio Two's Owain Wyn Evans, while Strictly co-star Dianne Buswell added: "Gorjalinnas." Meanwhile, Giovanna Fletcher added a string of red love heart emojis, and Jowita Przystał wrote: "Beautiful."
It comes after Amy announced over the weekend her Dare to Dance series would be returning for a second season. Amy told her fans: "Hi everyone, I'm super excited to announce that Dare to Dance is coming back for a second series. So, if you live in Wales and you’d like to take part I’d LOVE to hear from you!
"It was such a pleasure and a privilege to teach so many lovely people a dance for the first series and to watch as they then went on to surprise their friends and family with their brilliant performances - and I can’t wait to do it all again!"
