Strictly Come Dancing star Amy Dowden has opened up about living with Crohn's disease by sharing a heartbreaking post with her fans.
The 31-year-old professional dancer was diagnosed with the inflammatory bowel disease (IBD) when she was a child and has been raising awareness about the condition for the past few years. On World IBD Day on May 19, Amy shared a photograph of herself with her followers on Instagram to "show the reality of flares", BirminghamLive reports.
Pictured with swollen eyes and cracked lips, the dancer said she would "give anything" to not live with the life-long condition. There is no cure for Crohn's and symptoms can be constant or may come and go every few weeks or months.
