Strictly's Amy Dowden gushes over 'stunning' Welsh wedding as she marries fiancé Ben Jones

Strictly Come Dancing's Amy Dowden has finally married her fiancé Ben Jones after a two-year delay. The pair were originally scheduled to get married in July 2020 but the ceremony was postponed due to the coronavirus pandemic.

After a long wait the couple, who got engaged in 2017, finally had their big day on Saturday, July 2, 2022. Amy and fellow dancer Ben, who own the Art in Motion dance academy together, chose a "stunning" venue in the Gower for their nuptials.

Amy, who hails from Caerphilly, said she "always knew" she wanted to get married in Wales. The 31-year-old chose to stick to her Welsh roots for most of the wedding, picking a bridal gown from Laura May in Cardiff and opting for Wales-based florist Jan Lima for the flowers, you can read more about this here.

Lifting the lid on their romantic ceremony, Amy told Hello! Magazine: "It was a stunning venue. I always knew I wanted to get married in Wales."

Prior to the big day Amy enjoyed a hen do in Cardiff with her twin sister Becky Dowden and friends. The bridal party visited The Parkgate Hotel and Dirty Martini during the celebrations.

Amy wore an all-white ensemble for the occasion which she completed with a bride-to-be sash, veil, and sunglasses. She was seen posing next to a sign at The Parkgate Hotel that said "Welcome to Amy's hen" alongside her bridal party, before enjoying afternoon tea and some time at the spa. The party then headed out to Cardiff for a night out where Amy could be seen making cocktails behind the bar at Dirty Martini. You can read more about Amy's hen do here.
