AJ Odudu has confirmed her first major television role since pulling out of Strictly Come Dancing.
The presenter, who was partnered with professional Kai Widdrington, had to bow out of the 2021 competition hours before the final after sustaining an injury to her ankle.
She was also unable to take part in the Stictly live tour, which kicked off a few days ago, with EastEnders star Maisie Smith, who reached the final in 2020, stepping in.
But now AJ jas confirmed a brand new TV gig after teasing her lastest work project on Instagram.
Last week the 33-year-old, who is still on crutches, posed next to a stack of suitcases at Heathrow airport.
She captioned the snap: "When one door closes, an aeroplane door opens! I'm off to Vietnam to film a show coming soon to @channel4 & @hbomax."
The new show has now been confirmed as Channel 4's The Bridge.
Last year the gruelling reality competition, which sees 16 strangers come together for the chance to take on an epic challenge and win the big cash prize, took place in Wales.
This year, however, the series has moved to Ha Long Bay, Vietnam. It will see the teams go head-to-head in a race to build a bridge over 1,000 feet of water in just 12 days to reach the cash held on top of ‘Fortune Rock’. But will whoever reaches the money first choose to share it with their teammates?
Speaking about the new season, Managing Director of Workerbee and Executive Producer Rick Murray, said: "We thought that building The Bridge in Wales was an epic challenge given the physical and mental endurance needed as well as coping with the Welsh weather. But this second series is in another league.
"Contributors might have a sunnier climate to enjoy, but the challenge will be far tougher with some devious twists and turn to throw them off course from day one."
AJ added: "The opportunity to front The Bridge has happened almost serendipitously. From the Strictly Ballroom I have taken off onto my next, new adventure. Literally.
"It's so exciting to front a show that promises to push the envelope and I know The Bridge is going to be bold, full of excitement and filled with plenty of drama. Bring it on."
