Strictly Come Dancing fans were not impressed as the results of Monday night's semi-finals saw Will Mellor leave the competition.
The Hollyoaks and Coronation Street actor battled it out against Fleur East in the dreaded dance-off after they came bottom of the leader board based on the judges' scores and public vote.
Both couples performed their favourite dance from Sunday night, with Fleur opting to redo her Charleston while Will chose to perform his Couples’ Choice to a 90s Manchester-inspired medley.
Judges Motsi Mabuse and Craig Revel Horwood opted to save Fleur and Vito, Anton Du Beke shared that his decision to save Will and Nancy was "due to an error in a dismount from a lift" from Fleur and Vito. With the judging panel in a gridlock, it came down to head judge Shirley Ballas' decision as to who would leave the competition.
She said: "First of all, the British public has spoken and with respect, I take that on board. My fellow judges have decided that they don’t agree, so I have made lots of notes here, both couples were outstanding and not only today but through the series.
"I have loved both of them, this is by far, even for me Craig, the most difficult decision I feel I have had to make. Based on micro details, I have decided to save Fleur and Vito."
Not all viewers were happy to see the former X Factor star perform another week, as fan-favourite contestant Will got the boot just days before the finale.
Fans were left disappointed that Anton was the only judge who pointed out the mistake in Fleur and Vito's routine and argued if, as the judges say, their decision is based on the 'dance-off alone' that Will should have been saved.
Unhappy fans took to Twitter to vent after the frustrating results were announced. @hidi6265 said: "What a joke! Anton was right there was a mistake! So WHY did they vote will off ??"
@anoif_depp complained: "No way fleur should be in the final....she made a mistake?? ... absolutely wrong decision...only Anton got it right..." @clp08 wrote: "Annoyed that only Anton followed the rules for the dance off. Will’s first dance off and left and Fleur has been in loads and messed up. Wrong decision."
@spjones12019 fumed: "Based on the 'dance off alone' - someone should tell Shirley the rules. Wills timing was perfection, Fleur made mistakes so why did Shirley save Fleur??? Anton saw the mistakes , the public saw the mistakes - lets keep it about the dancing please......"
@meg_jones_28 shared: "Will should be in the final- Fleur made mistakes in the dance off!!." @plewsg posted: "Anton was the only judge who judged the dance off only. Fleur did make mistakes." @juliedazzle added: "Unbelievable - how can you make a mistake in the dance off & still go through? Strictly judges you should be ashamed!"
