Strictly fans fume as they accidentally miss show after schedule shake-up

Strictly Come Dancing fans were left reeling as they missed tonight's show following a huge schedule shake-up.

The BBC One Latin and ballroom competition usually airs on a Saturday, with the results show filmed later than evening and broadcasted on the Sunday. However, this week, owing to scheduling conflicts, the show was broadcasted on the Friday night and the results will be aired on Saturday night at the earlier time of 5.40pm.

The schedule shake-up - owing to the FIFA World Cup - has left fans furious, but some are feeling even worse after realising they had missed the show as they didn't realise it was on Friday night.

Upset and angry fans took to Twitter to vent their frustrations.

"Anyone know why @bbcstrictly is on tonight instead of Saturday? I've missed nearly the whole show and I'm guessing that I'm not alone in being annoyed with the BBC's lack of communication for changing the schedule. #StrictlyComeDancing #strictly," one wrote.

A second shared: "Oh no just realised #Strictly is on tonight ffs how much have I missed?!"

"Guess who forgot #Strictly was on tonight and almost missed it....," a third penned online.

On tonight's Strictly Come Dancing, it was Musicals Week and the six remaining stars took to the dancefloor to earn themselves a place in next week's semi-final. Only five celebrities will make it through.

Fleur and Vito danced a Quickstep to I Got Rhythm from An American In Paris whilst Helen and Gorka did their Couple's Choice to Mein Herr from Cabaret. Back in the competition, Kym and Graziano danced a Cha Cha to Fame from the musical of the same name.

Molly and Carlos performed their Charleston to Hot Honey Rag from Chicago whilst Hamza and Jowita did a Samba to They Live In You from The Lion King. Will and Nancy danced a Foxtrot to Sun And Moon from Miss Saigon.

Kym Marsh returned to the dancefloor after missing a week when she tested positive for Covid.

"Kym Marsh has tested positive for Covid-19. As a result, Kym and Graziano will not be taking part in Strictly Come Dancing this weekend," a spokesperson said, "Strictly Come Dancing protocols mean that all being well, they will return the following week."
