Richie Anderson says it's a 'massive honour' to be part of an all-male couple on Strictly Cone Dancing, after he was confirmed as the third contestant for the new series.
Richie is best known for working alongside Zoe Ball on the Radio 2 Breakfast Show, but is also a regular on The One Show and was part of the BBC presenting team for the coverage of the Queen's Platinum Jubilee. His place in the Strictly line-up alongside Will Mellor and Kym Marsh, was announced on Friday morning and, in the immediate aftermath, he took to Twitter to post: "Can’t believe I’m typing this! I’M GOING TO BE ON STRICTLY COME DANCING 2022. My dream has come true
"I can’t wait to get in the Iconic ballroom. Good luck to my pro partner as my dancing skills have previously been compared to Bambi on ice...bring it on."

As well as being revealed as a dancing celeb for Strictly 2022, Richie also revealed he will follow in the footsteps of 2021 runner-up John Whaite by being part of an all-male couple. He commented: ""I’m going to have to cancel my legendary Strictly launch night kitchen party that I throw every year, I’m sure my friends and family will understand.
"It’s also a massive honour to be part of an all-male dance partnership, it’s so important we have that inclusion on such a huge show.”
At various points during last year's competition, former Bake Off winner John spoke about how much it meant to him to be in a same-se pairing with pro dancer Johannes Radebe, saying he hoped it would give a strong message to younger people who may be struggling with their sexuality and being true to themselves.
