Strictly Come Dancing is over for another year as at the weekend Scots wildlife camera man Hamza Yassin scooped the Glitterball trophy.
Hamza danced his heart out as he went up against Fleur East, Helen Skelton and Molly Rainford and the four celebs battled it out to become the 2022 winner.
They all danced three routines but it was Hamza who came out on top with his partner Jowita Przystal and took home the trophy.
The show has been running since 2004, when Tess Daly and the late Bruce Forsyth presented, and many successful contestants have gone on to land West End roles - and even an unsuspecting romance came from the show! Here we look back on previous winners and what they are up to now...
Rose Ayling-Ellis - 2021
The EastEnders actress scooped the title last year with her professional partner Giovanni Pernice. The star made show history as she became the first deaf contestant. She managed to win the hearts of the nation and judges. The couple got the first perfect 40 of the series and their memorable routine they selected for the couple's choice where the music stopped completely is still spoken about now as it was so iconic and it even won a BAFTA award for TV moment of the year.
In the final, Rose and Giovanni recreated the dance, went on to win and after the show ended, Rose quit EastEnders and landed a role on the West End stage, playing Cecila in an adaption of Shakespeare's As You Like It.
In September this year, Rose and her boyfriend of seven years, Samuel Arnold, decided to call time on their relationship.
A source said that their split was due to spending a lot of time apart following Rose's busy work schedule.
Bill Bailey - 2020
Viewers of Strictly Come Dancing 2021 were pretty surprised when comedian Bill Bailey was named the winner.
Initially thinking that he might be the 'joke act' Bill went on to impress the nation, judges and even Janet Jackson herself - as he performed flawlessly week in and week out.
Bill made Strictly history as he was the oldest ever winner of the show at the age of 55, and his partner Oti Mabuse became a winner for the second time in a row.
But after the series ended, Bill decided to head back to his comedy roots, and announced a UK tour of his En Route To Normal stand-up show. He also went on to make his TV presenting debut on Steph's Packed Lunch to cover for host Steph McGovern.
Aside from his busy work diary, Bill is actually a qualified zoo-keeper and enjoys spending time with his family in his west London home, looking after exotic birds he fosters in his back garden aviary.
Kelvin Fletcher - 2019
Emmerdale star Kelvin Fletcher won the show with Oti Mabuse.
Kelvin was a last minute substitute and wasn't actually in the initial line up as he was called in to replace Made in Chelsea's Jamie Laing, who injured his leg during rehearsals and had to drop out.
Just three months after he won the show, Kelvin announced his first theatre role after landing a part as the Prince in a Sheffield production of Sleeping Beauty for a rumoured £100,000 fee.
He was also set to take part in the Strictly live show but sadly due to the coronavirus pandemic in 2020, he was sadly unable to perform in either production.
The actor opened up about the impact the pandemic had on the entertainment industry and said that he had struggled to find work after being rejected for 10 roles.
Kelvin, who is best known for playing Andy Sugden on the ITV soap, said it was so disheartening hearing the word 'no' after taking part in several auditions for various productions.
However, despite not quite being an acting role, Kelvin went on to land his own farming documentary show, charting his bid to make a profit from 120 acres of land with no past experience.
Stacey Dooley - 2018
Investigative journalist Stacey Dooley bagged the Glitterball trophy back in 2018 with her professional dance partner Kevin Clifton - who also went on to become her real life partner.
Not long after scooping the title, Stacey fell victim to the so-called 'Strictly Curse' and her relationship with her long-term partner came to an end.
Just weeks later, Stacey confirmed her romance with Kevin and four years on the couple are now expecting their first child together.
Work-wise, Stacey swapped documentaries for reality TV and landed a job presenting BBC Three's Glow Up: Britain's Next Make-Up Star.
She also went back to her roots and filmed a few documentaries after the show including Stacey Meets the IS Brides and also her own successful 'Stacey sleeps over' series.
Joe McFadden - 2017
Holby City actor Joe won the 2017 with partner Katya Jones.
Even though he topped the leaderboard just once in the series, he beat the likes of Alexandra Burke, Debbie McGee and Gemma Atkinson to clinch the trophy.
And after the show, he went on to be part of the production of the UK tour of Priscilla, Queen of the Desert.
Ore Oduba - 2016
TV presenter Ore won the show in 2016 with professional partner Joanne Clifton and afterwards, his career sky-rocketed.
After his win, he went on to star in the UK tour of Grease, playing the teen angel, before appearing alongside Jason Manford in Curtains the musical.
He then landed a role in the West End when Curtains bagged a permanent spot in London - shortly before the theatres were sadly forced to close due to the coronavirus pandemic.
But Ore's work diary has been jam-packed since his Strictly win, going on to front the main coverage of Sport Relief and hosting jobs on This Morning and The One Show.
He also played the role of news anchor Akintola in BBC One drama Noughts + Crosses and is currently starring as Brad Majors in a very successful run of the Rocky Horror Picture Show.
Jay McGuiness - 2015
The Wanted star Jay is well remembered for his Pulp Fiction jive in Movie Week which made him a firm favourite to win the show.
Jay and his partner Aliona Vilani repeated the dance in the series finale which sealed their win of the Glitterball.
After the show, Jay featured in the London Palladium show Rip it Up the 60s alongside fellow Strictly stars Harry Judd, Aston Merrygold and Louis Smith.
This year Jay got together with his The Wanted bandmates to perform a final time as a fivesome before the tragic death of Tom Parker.
Caroline Flack - 2014
Tragic Caroline said that appearing on Strictly Come Dancing was 'the best experience of my whole life'.
Caroline appeared on the show shortly after she was replaced as the host of The Xtra Factor and following a difficult break-up.
She was partnered with Pasha Kovalev and the pair landed three perfect scores of 40 in the finale with her performances, that included an incredible performance to Angels by Robbie Williams.
The show paid a special tribute to Caroline this year following her death by recreating the routine.
The former Love Island presenter died after she took her own life at the age of 40 in February 2020 while awaiting a trial for assault.
The news sent shockwaves through the entertainment industry, with BBC bosses paying tribute on the official Strictly social media page at the time.
They wrote: "The entire Strictly Come Dancing family are heartbroken to hear this incredibly sad news.
"Caroline had an infectious energy and passion for dance, she shone brightly in the Strictly ballroom every week and became an incredible champion.
"Words cannot express our sadness, she was simply one of a kind. We are sending our love to all her family and friends during this difficult time".
Abbey Clancy - 2013
Peter Crouch's model wife Abbey took part in the 2013 series with Aljaz Skorjanec.
After being announced as the winner, Abbey became the new host of the revived series of Britains' Next Top Model - nine years after she started her own career on the reality show.
She also then launched her own line with high-street brand Lipsy, who she continues to release collections with today.
After welcoming daughter Sophia in 2011, Abbey and husband Peter went on to have three more children; Liberty Rose in 2015, Johnny in 2018 and Jack in 2019.
Louis Smith - 2012
After his huge success at the 2012 Olympics, gymnast Louis took part in Strictly Come Dancing later that same year.
Despite Denise Van Outen being at the top of the leader board for nine of the twelve weeks, Louis went on to win the show with partner Flavia Cacace.
He went on to represent Great Britain again at the 2016 Olympics in Rio de Janeiro - where he finished second in the pommel horse behind teammate Max Whitlock.
He also went on to take part in London Palladium show Rip it Up - The 60s, alongside fellow ex stars Harry Judd, Aston Merrygold and Jay McGuiness in 2018 and starred in a 70s adaption of the show the following year. He also landed a role in West End show Bring It On alongside Love Island's Amber Davies.
Harry Judd - 2011
The McFly drummer and dance partner Aliona Vilani won the show in 2011.
After his Strictly success, Harry then took part in a touring theatre show and released his own fitness book Get Fit Get Happy.
One year after his Strictly win, Harry got married to his partner Brittany 'Izzy' Johnston who he now shares two children with.
Kara Tointon - 2010
EastEnders actress Kara and her Russian dance partner Artem Chigvinstev had viewers hooked for weeks with their stunning performances during the 2010 series.
The pair won the show and also dated for four years before splitting in 2014.
Kara landed the role of Eliza Doolittle in the West End production of Pygmalion.
Kara went on to find love with Marius Jensen in 2017, and they share two children together Frey and Helly.
Chris Hollins - 2009
When Chris won the show in 2009 many weren't happy as he beat Hollyoaks actor Ricky Whittle to win the trophy.
Ricky had been the judges' favourite for weeks but it was the BBC sports correspondent and his partner Ola Jordan who won.
After the show, he went on to land a role as a sports pundit on BBC Breakfast behind to co-present Watchdog and also hosts slots on The One Show, Food Inspectors and Secret Britain.
Tom Chambers - 2008
Holby City actor Tom and Camilla Dallerup won the viewers hears in 2008.
S Club 7 actress Rachel Stevens had been the bookies favourite that year, but it was Tom who came out on top.
After his win, Tom left Holby for BBC drama Waterloo Road and then he went on to bag the role of Jerry Travers in the UK production of Top Hat after Strictly.
Alesha Dixon - 2007
Alesha Dixon is possibly one of the most successful contestants to come out of Strictly Come Dancing.
Her marriage to MC Harvey had just come to an end and she had been dropped from her record label when she was announced in the line-up for the show.
She was paired with Matthew Cutler and, following her win, Alesha was invited to return to the show on the judging panel - replacing Arlene Phillips.
Alesha left the panel after three years but went on to become a judge on Britain's Got Talent over on ITV.
Her second album The Alesha Show was released months after the show, went platinum and spawned four hit singles.
Mark Ramprakash - 2006
The cricketer was paired with Karen Hardy and the pair won in 2006.
However, after his win, Mark returned to his sporting roots and was announced as batting coach with the England Lions in India before taking up the same role at Middlesex and later with England.
Darren Gough - 2005
Despite being at the near bottom of the leader board several weeks in a row, Darren Gough turned it around and won the show in 2005.
Darren and his partner Lilia Kopylova beat Colin Jackson and Zoe Ball to the trophy.
Just two years after his win, Darren returned for the Christmas Strictly Special and won again.
Following his success, the sportsman took part in the live tour in 2008 before hanging up his dancing shoes for good. He was appointed an MBE in the 2020 Birthday Honours for his services to cricket and charity.
Jill Halfpenny - 2004
The EastEnders actress was the first ever Strictly star to score a perfect 40.
Following her Strictly success, Jill quit her role as Kate Mitchell in EastEnders after five years on the soap before playing Roxie Hart in the West End musical Chicago.
Jill then went on to play Izzie Redpath in Waterloo Road and later Diane Mannin in In The Club.
Natasha Kaplinsky - 2004
The BBC aired two series within 12 months in 2004.
Prior to Jill scooping the Glitterball Trophy in the autumn of 2004, Natasha did it first in the May-June series.
She was paired with Brendan Cole and after their win, Natasha went on to host the BBC's Six O'Clock news.
In October 2007, she was brought in to relaunch Channel 5 but left after three years of hosting Five News with Natasha Kaplinsky, to go over to ITV News.
Natasha married her partner Justin Bower a year after her Strictly win, with whom she shares two children.
