Strictly Come Dancing to sign I'm A Celeb star who 'wants to experience show's curse'

Strictly Come Dancing is reportedly set to sign up soap star Adam Thomas.

The 34-year-old is best known for his role as Adam Barton in ITV's Emmerdale and later went on to come third in 2016's edition of I'm A Celebrity... Get Me Out Of Here!

And now, the Waterloo Road actor is said to have his sights set on a pair of dancing shoes.

He even previously joked that he wanted to experience Strictly Come Dancing's famous curse.

Adam is currently married to Caroline Daly and the two share daughter Elsie-Rose, five, and son Teddy, eight.

"After two decades on screen and, as one of the Thomas brothers, he instantly brings a huge fanbase. That’s what Strictly bosses love," an insider claimed of his signing.

Adam Thomas was reportedly picked for Strictly (BBC)

They added to The Sun: "Producers also see him as someone who can fill the young hunk role, which is important and often sees them pick soap stars."

Mirror has contacted the BBC for comment.

Last year, Adam admitted he was upset at not being approached to join the cast of I'm A Celebrity... Get Me Out Of Here! for the All-Star edition.

The special edition saw the likes of Amir Khan, Jordan Banjo, Carol Vorderman and Shaun Ryder take part in gruelling trials.

Former Emmerdale actor Adam appeared on the show in 2016 and finished in third place losing out to Gogglebox star Scarlett Moffatt.

In a recent interview with OK! Adam revealed he'd been shocked not to get the call-up to return with fellow 'legends' of the show.

Speaking to OK! magazine at the time, Adam said: “The best of the best are going back, aren’t they? I mean, I don’t know why I didn’t get invited.”

Adam added: “I kept looking at my phone like, “Where’s my call? Why have they not rung me?”

In the same interview, the Waterloo Road actor opened up about the difficulties of leaving a regular job on a soap.

“Ever since I left Emmerdale, I’ve been going from job to job, not knowing necessarily where my next pay cheque is coming from,” Adam said.
