He praised the show for helping him deal with his troubles.
He told the Sun newspaper: “I’ve been in a lull in lockdown the last two years have been quite difficult mentally for me.
“My fitness waned a lot but I’m getting fitter and fitter now.
“And I can feel that in my head. I’m feeling so much better now."
The star added: “I’ve got a lot of ups rather than downs at the moment.
“I’m feeling good.”
As Birmingham Live reports, he competed in the 2020 series of the show, saying: “Current level of dance ability? I don’t know, I’m going to go in the middle and say five out of 10, but I might be completely overshooting it with that!"
Max was the third contestant to be booted of the show, after finding himself in the dance-off with Eastenders' Maisie Smith.
The series was won by Oti Mabuse, who is now a ITV Dancing on Ice judge, as well as Bill Bailey.
