Strictly Come Dancing star dating footballer after split from pro dancer

BBC Strictly Come Dancing pro Katya Jones is reported to be dating a footballer and they have been enjoying secret dates together. The professional dancer is dating former youth international footballer William Abbotts.

The couple have been enjoying cosy dinner dates near his home, according to reports. A source said: “Katya and Will have been seeing one another for a little while. He runs a successful business and it is clear he really likes Katya.

"Katya’s schedule will become incredibly busy when Strictly starts again this autumn so they’re not rushing into anything and are just having fun going out on dates together. Katya is a real catch and it’s not hard to see why Will is so taken with her.”

As reported by Birmingham Live, Katya was previously married to fellow Strictly star and pro Neil Jones. Speaking to The Sun, a source said the kiss had "highlighted problems within the relationship and made it impossible for them to get back on track."

After six years of marriage, the pair jointly announced the split on their social media pages back in 2019.

The statement read: "As our fans and loyal supporters you are really important to us and so we wanted to let you know some news. After 11 years, we have made the mutual decision to separate. We will always love each other, just in a different way as friends."

Neil has gone on to find love with Chyna from Love Island, with the pair loved up having gone public with their romance last year, to fans' delight.
