Strictly Come Dancing star announces newborn son's name after sharing emotional 'ups and downs' of birth

Almost a week after announcing the arrival of his new baby son Strictly Come Dancing star James Bye has now revealed the name of the newborn. James and his wife Victoria announced the arrival of their baby after a "long labour" with "lots of ups and downs".

Now in a joint Instagram post, James and Victoria have shared that their baby boy is called Rufus Gray. In an emotional post they said he was "worth the wait". James appeared on Strictly Come Dancing in 2022 when he was partnered with Welsh dancing professional Amy Dowden.

They said: "Rufus Gray... 18.06.23... 8lb 1oz Hello little Roo xx You're here... Our new little Bye... You kept us waiting for such a long time little one, but oh wow were you worth the wait. We're absolutely over the moon, smitten kittens and just head over heels for you. Our precious little rainbow... and boy have you brought the sun with you.

"It's safe to say. We're just in love. This first week has been a whirlwind of you...It's the start of a whole new chapter, a new adventure, a whole new start with you - our little Roo...This is just the beginning".

James and Victoria announced they were having their fourth baby in January 2023. At the time they told their fans about the challenges they faced due to Victoria having endometriosis and how they never expected to be able to have another baby. When announcing the birth of Rufus, the couple said it was a "long labour" with "lots of ups and downs". They said in the post which was penned by the new mum: "Oh baby... He's here... After a long induction, a long labour, lots of ups & downs & all the drama along the way...our hearts are near to bursting with the arrival of our precious baby boy..."
