Strictly Come Dancing looks set to cause scheduling 'chaos' on the BBC this year, as it final shows will directly clash with the World Cup.
While the World Cup would typically take place in June/July, this year's tournament won't kick off until November 20, with it finishing on December, the exact same time that Strictly's new series will be close to wrapping up, with its final set to take place in the weeks leading up to Christmas.
Given the huge viewing figures football regularly pulls in for the BBC, with England women's Euro final attracting nearly 18 million, the channel will be hoping that the World Cup 2022 proves to be a ratings winner. However, Strictly has been the broadcaster's big show for close to 20 years now, consistently beating its primetime rivals by comprehensive margins.
