Strictly Come Dancing's Molly Rainford issues defiant update as chances of winning 'ruled out'

Molly Rainford is on a mission to show everyone what she's capable of and vows to 'bring the passion' as she goes into this weekend's Strictly Come Dancing semi final as the outsider to win, with bookies ruling out her chances of even making next week's final.

Other than her Couple's Choice routine to the Grange Hill theme tune for the BBC 100th birthday special, Molly has been a consistent high scorer alongside pro partner Carlos Gu in the new series of Strictly, with the couple delivering some amazing performances over the weeks, after making a fine impression in week one.

Unfortunately for Molly, the youngest of this year's contestants and best known to TV viewers for playing CBBC icon Nova Jones, too often the vote has not reflected the leaderboard and she and Carlos have now found themselves in the bottom two four times, including at the end of last week's Musicals Week, when they landed in danger even after scoring a tremendous 38 out of 40 for their Chicago themed Charleston. They had to battle it out in the dance-off alongside Kym Marsh and Graziano Di Prima to survive, with fans angry on Molly's behalf that she was in the bottom again.

There is now just one more live show to go before this year's Strictly final and, at the time of writing, bookies weren't tipping Molly and Carlos to make the cut, with their odds as high as 100/1 for victory, behind Fleur East and Vito Coppola, whose odds are slightly better at 80/1.

Just like their rivals, Molly and Carlos have to learn two dances going into Sunday's Strictly semi-final and, as she prepared for another day of training with her dance partner, Molly took to Instagram with a message for her fans, saying: "I'm really excited for this week, love the styles and I feel like this is the week I really, really need to show everyone..." before being interrupted by Carlos.

Sharing the video on her Insta story, Molly added: "I was going to say, show everyone just how we're working to get to that final, just got to bring the passion."
