Kaye Adams has admitted that taking part in Strictly Come Dancing has transformed her life. The Scots presenter has posted a video on Instagram updating her fans about how she feels about being asked to appear on the hit BBC show.
The Loose Women host will join a number of household names when they take to the famous ballroom this Autumn. Kaye, 59, who is from Grangemouth, has previously spoke about how she might embarrass her teenage children because she "can't dance".
However, it seems the star is now buzzing to be taking part after updating her 137k followers on Insta. In her video message, while sitting in a car, she said: "Do you know what, people keep asking me how I feel about doing Strictly, and up until know I have said oh I don't know, I'm nervous, I'm nervous.
"And all of that is true, but actually, I can unequivocally say I am so happy that I have agreed because it has reconnected me with real people. Like lots of journalists, I live on Twitter. And like all the nastiness. The toxicity. And people trying to take you down all the time.
"And this has just transformed my life - because I'm at the shop and out for a walk with a dog or just wherever. I'm in a restaurant whatever and just nice ordinary people go 'good luck, I hope it goes well. Oh aren't you brave!'
"It's just really nice, decent people. They're out there. This is so nice to be reminded of it."
Last week, Kaye spoke on her BBC Radio Scotland show adding that she was "too old" to be taking part.
She told listeners: "You might have seen that I have signed up for it, which was a huge decision. I went through so many thoughts in my head, 'You know, why would I do this? I'm too old, I can't dance, I really can't dance'.
"In fact, I spoke to Shereen on BBC Radio Scotland on Saturday and she reminded me that when we used to go to aerobics classes together in my 20s, when everyone was grape vining to the right I was grape vining to the left so that's not really a particularly good sign."
