Strictly Come Dancing contestant Jayde Adams showed off the tango she and dance partner Karen Hauer will perform tonight to students at a Bristol theatre and dance school this week - as well as a sneak preview for train passengers at Temple Meads station. The Bedminster-based comedian and actor brought her dance partner Karen back down to her home city this week, after stealing the show at the first Strictly showcase last Saturday.
It wasn't the first time the Strictly cameras have been to Bristol - the pair were introduced for the first time on the roof of the Clifton Observatory in scenes that were screened during the postponed Strictly launch episode last Friday. After smashing the first Strictly episode with a samba to Christina Aguilera's 'Dirty', the pair continue with the Latin theme this Saturday - the first were the prospect of elimination looms on Sunday.
And to get inspiration, Jayde and Karen came to Bristol this week, and showcased their dance to the students at The Big Act academy of theatre and arts in The Dings, just near Temple Meads station. The Big Act posted a video on their social media which didn't show the dance itself, but showed the rapturous reaction from a hall full of students. The only clue from that video was that the dance appeared to end with Jayde and Karen far apart on the dancefloor - but viewers will soon find out on Strictly tonight.
Jayde and Karen also both posted on their social media channels about the trip, with Karen videoing Jayde going through a bit of the routine on her own - on the platform at Temple Meads station. The dance professional jokily called Jayde to stop and not give too much away, with Jayde replying that her fans would have to 'come back Saturday'.
But perhaps the biggest revelation for new fans of the South Bristol star was the sound her singing. Karen Hauer also filmed Jayde on the dancefloor in the hall at The Big Act Academy singing the 2012 Adele hit Bond theme song Skyfall, while pulling a gym band taut. As well as being the MC at an inflatable church and a compere for drag queen cabaret, Jayde also cut her teeth as a performer as an Adele tribute act.
The visit on Thursday also coincided with the birthday of fellow Strictly contestant Matt Goss, from 1980s band Bros, and so Jayde also posted a selfie video of her and a group of The Big Act students singing happy birthday to the singer.
Strictly Come Dancing is on Saturday on BBC1 at 6.30pm, and Jayde will be hoping to improve on her score of 23 out of 40 from her samba last week which, while it wasn't bottom, was in the lower half of the table. She was left emotional at the occasion and the standing ovation the pair got for their dance routine.
