Strictly Come Dancing's James Bye 'predicted' his own exit with telling on-camera remark

James Bye was voted off Strictly Come Dancing this weekend, with the EastEnders actor 'predicting' his own exit and suggesting his days on the show could be numbered, with a comment he made on Saturday's live show.

For a number of weeks, James, known to millions of soap fans as Albert Square's own Martin Fowler, has defied bookies' odds, by staying clear of the Strictly dance-off, despite him being favourite to go. He aimed to do exactly the same again in Halloween Week, when he and pro partner Amy Dowden performed a Charleston, with James dressed as a beekeeper and Amy as a bee.

The couple finished bottom of the leaderboard on 27 out of 40 and, after the public had a chance to vote, that wasn't enough to keep them out of the dreaded dance-off. They landed in the danger zone alongside Fleur East and Vito Coppola, with Fleur in the bottom two for the second time this series.

Sadly for James and Amy, all four judges opted to keep Fleur and Vito in the contest, sealing James and Amy's fate. They took their exit in their stride but, something James said to Claudia after he danced on Saturday, hinted that he thought he might be in trouble.

Making a very honest admission, the EastEnders star said: "This lot are so talented, I'm probably not keeping up with them, but I'm doing my best," prompting Claudia to interrupt: "You absolutely are!" with Amy adding: "He is."

While James' exit mirrored the standings from Saturday night, some viewers weren't ready to say bye to him quite yet, with one tweeting: "Sorry that James has gone. He seemed to be improving," with another reacting: "James worked very hard every week and was improving. Not particularly fair but that’s how it works."
