Strictly Come Dancing’s remaining couples are preparing for an extra-special (and brand-new) themed week dedicated to music icons.
The celebrities and their professional dance partners will return to the ballroom on Saturday night and hope to impress the judges again.
And the theme means they’ll be dancing to some huge anthems from global superstars.
Dr Punam Krishnan and Gorka Marquez won’t be among the couples, having been eliminated in last Sunday’s dance-off.
They faced Shayne Ward and Nancy Xu in the fifth results show of the BBC One series. All four judges chose to keep the former Coronation Street actor in the competition.
Amy Dowden will also miss Icons Week as she recovers from being hospitalised shortly after last week’s live show.
A representative for the Welsh star, who was diagnosed with breast cancer in May 2023, has since said she’s “feeling better”. Lauren Oakley — who doesn’t have a celebrity partner in this series — has been training with JB Gill all week and will dance with the JLS singer as he performs his Couple’s Choice routine on Saturday.
The BBC said it hoped Dowden could return to rehearsals the following week.
