Hamza Yassin broke down in tears on Strictly Come Dancing as he reflected on his time on the show.
The wildlife cameraman embraced his professional dance partner Jowita Przystal as they received the judges’ scores for their second dance of the night.
Despite having mixed feedback from the panel, which saw Shirley Ballas getting booed from the audience after criticising the celebrity’s technique, the couple still scored 37 points.
The impressive results moved Hamza to tears, as he hid his face away from the camera to hug his professional partner.
Host Claudia Winkleman congratulated the semi-finalists before commended them on their “brilliant partnership” and asking Jowita why Hamza deserves a place in the final.
Jowita beamed as she reflected on her partner’s journey on the show and said: “From the first moment that I met you I asked you for your trust and your energy and you gave me much more than that.
“And seeing you every day going out of your comfort zone and working so hard and giving 100% all of the time is amazing.”
She added: “But what makes me the proudest teacher in the world is that you go out every night and dance from your heart, so thank you for that.”
After the high praise and kind words, Hamza was unable to speak as the tears rolled down his face, so he brought Jowita in for another hug.
It comes after Hamza and Jowita received high praise for their first dance and a near-perfect score of 39 out of 40.
Despite the outstanding performance and rave reviews from the judges, fans were concerned whether the duo will make it into the final next weekend, as Craig Revel Horwood never gives them full marks.
One fan wrote on Twitter : “What does Hamza have to do for Craig to give him a ten?”
As a second agreed: “Nah that Charleston was a 40! Come on Craig! Hamza, robbed again!”
Another passionate viewer declared: “If Hamza doesn’t get to the final I will riot,” as a fourth shared their views: “If Hamza and Helen don’t go through to the final, I’ll be so p**sed off.”
Strictly Come Dancing returns on Monday night (12 December) f or the semi-finals results show.
