Amy Dowden has shared a milestone moment with fans after her breast cancer battle.
The Strictly Come Dancing star took to social media to mark her second wedding anniversary with husband Benjamin Jones.
Dowden, who was diagnosed with stage 3 cancer in May, took to Instagram to post snaps from their wedding day and make a touching tribute to Jones. She wrote: "Happy 2nd anniversary!
"I think it's fair to say we've been through quite a bit during married life. But I'm forever grateful for you!"
"Thank you for this past year," she continued. "I know at times it's been so tough for you to watch but you kept positive, kept the house clean away from infections and tried to keep me as positive as possible."
"I love you even more!," she added.
"Let's hope for a smoother year ahead. But what I do know is we have each other. More adventures, my crazy last min plans, house renovations, dance school fun and basically just us being us! Love you always."
The post quickly saw a wave of supportive comments. One fan remarked, "You're amazing! Always so positive as you go through your battle. Happy anniversary!"
Another commented, "The real meaning of power couple. Have the best day!" While a third wrote: "You really learn the love you have during your toughest times and years. So glad you had each other. It's tough on both. Wishing you both healthy, happy and fun-filled years ahead. Ye deserve it."
Through her illness, Dowden has undergone a vasectomy, and it was then that doctors discovered the cancer had spread. In July, she faced another diagnosis of a different type of cancer.
Due to these health challenges, the Welsh dancer skipped Strictly in 2023. However, she's set to return to the BBC show this year, revealing that recent scans showed "no evidence of disease". Dowden’s battle will also be charted in an upcoming BBC show.
The dance competition is expected to hit screens in mid-September.
