Strictly Come Dancing result sees Kaye Adams go home as Shirley Ballas disagrees with other judges

Strictly Come Dancing has said goodbye to a couple for the first time this year, as Kaye Adams got the ballroom boot, alongside pro partner Kai Widdrington. But their exit was not without some late drama as head judge Shirley Ballas disagreed with the votes cast by her colleagues.

Bookies never rated Loose Women star Kaye's chances of doing well on the BBC show from the second her name appeared on the line-up, putting her at the bottom of the winner odds, alongside football legend Tony Adams. However, despite that many fans had been looking forward to seeing Kaye in action, with the presenter also having the full backing of her Loose Women colleagues, particularly close pal Nadia Sawalha, who was in the audience to cheer her on for two weeks in a row.

Both Kaye and Tony danced a Charleston on Saturday night but, while Tony's improved performance was enough to keep him out of danger, sadly for Kaye and Kai, they landed in the Dance Off, joined in the bottom two by Bros legend Matt Goss and his pro partner Nadia.

Kaye, Matt and Tony all score 22 out of 40 on Saturday, meaning that Kaye and Matt were going into the Dance Off completely even, as the Strictly judges looked on ready to declare who they wanted to keep in the competition. Craig, Motsi and Anton all opted to save Matt, remarking both couples made mistakes, meaning the result was a forgone conclusion before Shirley got to have her say.

But, when asked by host Tess Daly if she would have voted the same way, she said she wouldn't have, replying: "I thought due to a little bit better quality I would have saved Kaye and Kai."
