Strictly Come Dancing fans have once again been left angry by the show's result as two couples who scored highly on Saturday night ended up in the dance-off, with Ellie Simmonds and Nikita Kuzmin eventually voted out.
Just like series in years gone by, this year's Strictly has thrown up a few surprising results, most notably Fleur East falling into the bottom two twice and early frontrunner Molly Rainford also having to battle to keep her place in the competition.
On Saturday night, after two consecutive theme weeks, some normality was restored in the BBC ballroom, as the 10 remaining couples officially made it half way through the series. Echoing the trend from previous weeks, things were rather tight on the leaderboard, with Hamza Yassin topping the standings by just a point, on 38 out of 40. Kym Marsh and Helen Skelton both got personal bests of 37, while Mollie and Fleur both got 35.

Ellie and Nikita got 33, 12 points higher than Tony Adams in last place, but that wasn't enough to keep them out of danger. And, despite being 14 points ahead of ex Arsenal defender Tony on the leaderboard, Mollie and Carlos also had to dance again to stay in Strictly, with the judges unanimously choosing to keep them in.
Paralympic Ellie looked gutted at being told she was in the dance-off and fans were upset and angry on her behalf. One tweeted: "Cannot get my head around the fact that Ellie and Nikita are in the bottom two??" Equally annoyed, a second reacted: "Tony getting through and Nikita+Ellie in the dance off? It's just plain wrong. I can see myself stop watching if Tony gets much further."
And, echoing the same sentiments, a third posted: "Bloody joke how that Tony keeps getting through over good dancers like Ellie and Nikita. #strictly he was shockingly bad last night.
Strictly judge Motsi Mabuse also expressed her surprise at the result, given that Ellie had given her 'best ever' performance.
