Kym Marsh will take to the dancefloor tonight for the first live episode of Strictly Come Dancing.
The Morning Live presenter was born in Whiston - and is part of a star-studded line-up that includes Loose Women's Kaye Adams and former Arsenal defender Tony Adams. Kym Marsh has revealed she has opted to compete on the show this year in tribute to her dad, who has been diagnosed with terminal prostate cancer.
According to Mirror Onlin e, she said: "I don't know how long my dad's going to be around, we have no idea, but we know he's not well. So you're just like, right, I'm going to do things I know he'd love me to do and he'll come and see me.

"My husband is in the Army and he might be deployed again next year so you just think 'let's do things while we can'."
Away from the world of showbiz, Kym is married to Scott Ratcliff. The former Coronation Street star tied the knot with her new husband in a glamorous ceremony at the Royal Memorial Chapel at Sandhurst last year.
Scott is Kym's third husband as she has previously been married to actors Jack Ryder and Jamie Lomas. Jack is renowned for his role as Jamie Mitchell in EastEnders and he shared two children with Kym before they divorced in 2009.
Kym married Jamie in 2011, who is renowned for his role as Warren Fox in Hollyoaks. The two shared two children named Polly and Archie.
However, Archie sadly died soon after birth in 2009 as he was born 18 weeks early. Kym revealed she wore a cherub necklace when she married Scott as a tribute to Archie
She told OK! : "[My children] David, Emilie and Polly bought it for me as a Mother’s Day present to symbolise Archie. I never take it off and I really wanted to wear it as it represents Archie.”
