Strictly Come Dancing is back – and this is how you can watch it live

Strictly Come Dancing is back and set to be as glitzy and fun as ever.

The hit BBC One show returns for its 22nd series, bringing all the glamour and show-stopping steps back to your Saturday nights.

Hosts Tess Daly and Claudia Winkleman are back for another year, with judges Shirley Ballas, Anton Du Beke, Craig Revel Horwood, and Motsi Mabuse all ready with their scoring cards.

But super fans will be wondering just how they could be in with a chance of watching stars dancing a medley of routines live.

When does Strictly start?

The launch show for Strictly will be recorded in advance of this year’s live shows on Wednesday, September 4.

The BBC hasn’t released an official date of when the show will hit our screens but that information is set to be announced imminently.

The BBC has, however, shared details of the dates when the episodes will be filmed.

Who is in it?

Taking to the dance floor this year include the likes of Towie’s Pete Wicks, comedian Chris McCausland, Love Island contestant Tasha Ghouri, Go Compare singer Wynne Evans, and JLS singer JB Gill.

DIY SOS star Nick Knowles, former footballer Paul Merson, music icon Toyah Willcox, BBC Morning Live star Dr Punam Krishan, and former England hockey player Sam Quek MBE will also compete for the prestigious glitter ball trophy.

Completing the line-up are Gladiators athlete Montell Douglas, Olympic swimmer Tom Dean, EastEnders actor Jamie Borthwick, The X Factor winner Shayne Ward, and Miranda actress Sarah Hadland.

Where is it filmed?

The show will once again be filmed live at Elstree Film and Television Studios, with a one-off special from Blackpool Tower ballroom.

When is Strictly being filmed?

The show will be filmed at Elstree Film Studios on Saturday 21 and September 28, as well as:

- Saturday 5, 12, 19 and 26 October

- Saturday 2, 9, 23 and 30 November

- Saturday 7 & 14 December

The show will also be filmed at the Blackpool Tower ballroom on Saturday, November 16.

How can I get tickets?

Tickets for the launch show have now sold out, but the other dates are available.

They are allocated via a random draw and viewers can apply at any time until 10pm on Monday, September 2.

Fans can apply for a maximum of one pair of tickets per recording.

But take note, only apply if you intend to be the named ticket holder as you will need to show photo ID to get in and tickets are non-transferable.
