Strictly Come Dancing has announced actor Will Mellor as their first dancer.
The next series of the ballroom competition is expected to drop in Autumn but Strictly has already started rolling out its competitors. Making the announcement on BBC Breakfast, the show announced actor Will Mellor as their first dancer.
Will is best known for his work in Hollyoaks and Two Pints of Lager and a Packet of Crisps. The 46-year-old recently had a stint on ITV soap-opera Coronation Street where he played drug gangster Harvey Gaskell.

Upon being announced, Will said: "I'm honestly so chuffed to be taking part in Strictly Come Dancin g this year! Not going to lie, it's totally out of my comfort zone and I know it will be a huge challenge but that's what life is all about. This is also my Mum's favourite show and she’s had a really tough few years so I’m doing this is for her as well. Bring it on!"
The show has made huge changes in the build-up to its official return after lockdown rules were lifted. The jarring windows between judges will be removed and fans of the show will be invited back to the ballroom as a live studio audience will return. The BBC have teased more competitor will be announced throughout the day
