Strictly Come Dancing 2022 judges salaries – from Shirley Ballas to Anton Du Beke

Strictly Come Dancing 2022 is finally back on our screens, which means the judges will be dishing out their critique and praises to a hose of new celebrity contestants.

Viewers can expect the usual glitz and glamour as the contestants battle it out to win the Glitterball Trophy.

Hosts Tess Daly and Claudia Winkleman will as usual welcome the celebrity contestants to the ballroom week after week.

Head judge Shirley Ballas will be joined by Motsi Mabuse, Craig Revel Horwood and Anton Du Beke after he replaced Bruno Tonioli in 2021.

Every week the contestants, professional dancers, hosts, judges and all the behind the scenes staff will be working tirelessly to put together an amazing show – and they get paid generously for their efforts.

Here we take a closer look at the judges salaries, and how much they get paid for each season.

Shirley Ballas

Shirley Ballas is the highest paid judge on Strictly (PA)

Shirley Ballas, 62, is rumoured to earn a whopping £500,000 per series for Strictly Come Dancing.

As Head Judge, Shirley gets the deciding vote if there is a tie between who should leave the competition.

When she first joined the BBC show in 2017, it was believed she earned £180,000 per series.

However, since then the popularity of the show has skyrocketed.

In addition to Strictly, Shirley also earns money from doing Panto each year, and also teaches at a dance school in Streatham, South London.

Motsi Mabuse

Motsi Mabuse, 41, is believed to earn somewhere around £200,000 per season of Strictly.

This was her starting salary when she joined the show in 2019, following the departure of Darcy Bussell, but it isn’t known whether she has had a pay rise since then.

Professional dancer Oti Mabuse’s sister also earns money from running a dance school with her husband, and is an ambassador for Weight Watchers in Germany.

Craig Revel Horwood

Craig Revel Horwood, 57, has been on the show since it started in 2004. At that time he is believed to have had a salary of £110,000.

His earnings shot up to £180,000 in 2019, but at this time he was still the lowest-paid judge.

According to The Sun, his salary shot up to £200,000 in 2020, to match Motsi Mabuse.

Anton Du Beke

Anton Du Beke is the newest member of the judging panel (PA)

Anton Du Beke, 56, is the freshest face on the judging panel, after he stepped in for Bruno Tonioli.

According to The Sun, he is being paid somewhere between £175,000 and £200,000 for his expertise.

As a pro dancer in the series he is believed to have been paid around the £65,000 mark.

According to the publication, he “won't earn as much as Bruno due to experience" but he would be "paid handsomely."

Anton also boosts his Strictly salary by touring with his professional partner Erin Boag, which is thought to net him an additional £65,000.

The Strictly Come Dancing live shows will start tonight, September 24, at 6.45pm on BBC One.
