Strict curbs in 2 Punjab districts for PM Narendra Modi's February 17 rally

BATHINDA: Going by the apparent breach in the security of Prime Minister Narendra Modi near Ferozepur on January 5 when his cavalcade was stuck at a flyover for 15-20 minutes, the administrations of adjoining Fazilka and Muktsar districts are taking no chances for a repeat of the incident when the PM visits Abohar to address a rally on February 17.

Abohar falls in Fazilka district, which is next to Ferozepur. The administration has declared a no-fly zone in Fazilka from February 15 to 17 and prohibited drones and unmanned aerial vehicles (UAVs). The Muktsar administration has ordered to allow no traffic on national highway leading to Abohar till 3pm on February 17.
