Strength in the Brazilian Real Lifts Sugar Prices

May NY world sugar #11 (SBK25) today is up +0.49 (+2.60%), and May London ICE white sugar #5 (SWK25) is up +11.60 (+2.17%).

Sugar prices today are moderately higher as short-covering emerged in sugar futures after the Brazilian real (^USDBRL) rose to a 1-week high against the dollar.  The stronger real discourages export selling from Brazil's sugar producers.
