Spooky season is here and what better way to celebrate this creepy holiday than to settle down with a horror classic or two at Street Food Cinema's drive-in movie Fright Fest. The event is returning to Cardiff for it's third - and final - year at Splott Market.
Giving movie buffs a chance to catch a myriad of creepy motion pictures, the SFC, run by the team behind Street Food Circus, which has just finished its successful run at Merthyr Mawr's Fforest Feastival, is hosting a ten-day pop-up drive-in film and street food experience. The event is taking place between Friday, October 28 and Sunday, November 6.
Alongside visiting pumpkin patches and various spooky events happening around the country, the line-up of movies is the perfect way to get into the Halloween spirit. The line-up contains a whole host of famous films that range from mildly spine-chilling and family-friendly - such as Ghostbusters - Afterlife, Coco and Cruella - to totally terrifying - here's looking at you, A Nightmare on Elm Street and Silence of the Lambs. In addition to the regular classics, the Fright Fest will be hosting a special Day of the Dead night on Wednesday, November 2.
What's more, it's not just films that the event is putting on to get you in the spirit. Street Food Cinema will be holding a fancy dress competition throughout the ten-day run with the top five winners being announced on Sunday, November 6.
Making it the ultimate drive-in experience, you can accompany your cinematic experience from your car (which has a limit of five per vehicle) with a wide selection of street food from some of Cardiff's best independent eateries - Smoking Griddle, Big Apple Hot Dogs, Mr Nacho Nacho Nacho and Bare Bones wood-fired pizza and fries, to name a few.

And what's a film night without an abundance of sweet treats? Street Food Cinema's Legendary Movie Sweet Sharer Boxes will be available to pre-order when you snap up your drive-in movie tickets, which cost £25 per car.
Speaking of this nine-day cinematic extravaganza, Matt the Hat, the Street Food Circus' founder and 'ringmaster' said: "After an amazing summer at Roath Yard and a magical Forest Feastival, it’s great to be bringing the SFC experience back to Cardiff with our Street Food Cinema drive-in.
"We’ve got an incredible big screen and an amazing halloween-themed production to give people an unforgettable Fright Fest experience. We’re always looking for ways to combine unique experiences with the best street food that Wales has to offer - and we’ve got some big names lined up to take cinema classics to the next level.
“And for everyone who comes this autumn, as well as having an amazing night out, you’ll also be supporting local independent food businesses, artists and event producers."
