Street closed as six fire crews tackle blaze at property in coastal Scottish town

FIRE CREWS have been called to tackle a blaze at a property in a coastal town in Fife as smoke has been spotted billowing high into the sky from the surrounding areas.

Emergency services were alerted to the blaze at around 3.31pm on Saturday at a dwelling on Aberdour Road in Burntisland.

Scottish Fire and Rescue Service has sent six crews to tackle the inferno and confirmed there have been no reported casualties.

Police have also closed Aberdour Road from the Kirkcaldy Road roundabout to the Collinswell Drive roundabout as smoke can be seen billowing into the sky above the town.

It is understood that as of 7pm on Saturday, all six fire crews are still in attendance in a bid to tackle the blaze.

A spokesperson for the Scottish Fire and Rescue Service said: “We received a call at 3.31pm to a dwelling fire on Aberdour Road in Burntisland.

“We have six crews currently in attendance.

“There have been no reported casualties.”
