Streamer ‘ChudtheBuilder’ who yells the N-word at Black people arrested and charged with attempted murder

Who could have possibly predicted that a guy who’s made a career out of yelling the N-word in random people’s faces and trying to provoke them into fighting back would end up in deep trouble?

Enter Dalton Eatherly, aka “Chud the Builder”, a Tennessee livestreamer who has just been charged with attempted murder after shooting a man outside the Montgomery County Courthouse in Clarksville, Tennessee.

The exact details of the incident are unknown, and as of writing, we only have Eatherly’s word to go on, so take it with a pinch of salt. He says he saw a group of people pointing and laughing at him, so went up to them to confront them. In a statement to the cops, Eatherly said the men told him that if he began racially abusing them, they’d hit him.

“I had to defend myself by shooting them”

He claims they started “whaling on him”, so “I had to defend myself by shooting them“. District Attorney General Robert Nash confirmed that Eatherly had opened fire on the men, then managed to shoot himself in the arm during the incident.

According to a GoFundMe set up by the shot man’s wife, he’s named Josh, is a disabled veteran, and Eatherley shot him in the stomach and shoulder. He is currently in a “stable condition”, but will require extensive medical care as he recovers.

Eatherly was taken into police custody and transported to hospital by ambulance to treat his self-inflicted gunshot wound. He has now been charged with attempted murder, employing a firearm during a dangerous felony, aggravated assault, and reckless endangerment with a deadly weapon.

Bond was denied, as Eatherly was already out on bond after refusing to pay a $400 restaurant bill in Nashville, resulting in charges for theft of services, disorderly conduct, and resisting arrest.

As you can probably predict, MAGA rushed to this homicidal racist’s defense, and has donated over $100,000 towards supporting him. It remains to be seen whether this can be used to purchase a good enough lawyer to argue self-defense. That may be complicated by a recent X post in which he apparently promised his “season finale” would be a “dead chimp on the pavement”:

Maybe, when Eatherly is staring at the wall of his cell over the coming years, he might reflect on whether making his name by racially abusing random people in the street was actually such a good idea. But that would require a capacity for self-reflection I very much doubt he possesses.
