Uber has released its annual list of things forgotten by passengers in its cars.
Leaving something behind in an Uber can cause a lot of panic, particularly if it's an important item like your phone or keys. Unfortunately, it seems quite a few of us have made the blunder, as Uber have released their annual Lost & Found Index to give people a snapshot of what sort of things absent minded people have left behind.
The global transport provider released a huge list of things people have left behind in cars, which included a pet hamster, two fingernails, and a fire sword. These are along with some of the most commonly reported items like bags, wallets, and headphones, Manchester Evening News reports.

In its analysis of the data, Uber found that April 5, 2022 was the biggest day of the year for forgetting items, with nearly 1,000 lost item reports. They also said some passengers have accidentally forgotten their pets in their Uber which included dogs, turtles, hamsters, and even a rat.
The company also curated a list of 50 of the most unusual and weird things which they say “may surprise you.” Top of the list was a Danny Devito Christmas ornament, while other items named included a lightsaber, a slushy machine, Britney Spears Fantasy perfume, an ankle monitor, fake blood, and “an important pregnancy test.”
A number of “private items” were reported lost including an entire pack of underwear, condoms, and “X-Rated” items such as sex toys.
An Uber spokeswoman said: “As you get going this summer, try to remember your belongings when you exit the backseat. In case you do lose a precious Danny Devito Christmas ornament, a beloved pet Toy Poodle or 6 cheesecakes, Uber is always happy to help return those items.”
If you’ve left something behind in an Uber, the company says the best way to retrieve a lost item is to call the driver. If you have lost your phone in the car, you can login online.
- Tap the menu icon to open the main menu.
- Select “Your Trips” and then the trip on which you lost the item.
- Tap “Find lost item” and then “Contact driver about a lost item.”
- Enter your phone number to call the driver.
- If your driver picks up and confirms that your item has been found, coordinate a mutually convenient time and place to meet for its return to you.
- If your driver doesn’t pick up, leave a detailed voicemail describing your item and the best way to contact you.
