Stranger Things cast reunite to celebrate Maya Hawke’s surprise Valentine’s Day wedding in New York

The cast of Stranger Things reunited over the weekend as Maya Hawke married singer-songwriter Christian Lee Hutson in a surprise Valentine’s Day ceremony in New York.

Hawke, 27, exchanged vows with Hutson, 35, at St George’s Episcopal Church in Manhattan, with several of her former co-stars in attendance just months after the Netflix hit aired its final episode.

Photographs obtained by People showed Joe Keery, Natalia Dyer, Charlie Heaton, Sadie Sink, Finn Wolfhard, Gaten Matarazzo and Caleb McLaughlin arriving bundled against the winter chill for the black-tie celebration.

Notably absent were Millie Bobby Brown, David Harbour, Winona Ryder, Noah Schnapp and Jamie Campbell Bower.

The bride was joined by her parents, Ethan Hawke and Uma Thurman, as well as her younger brother Levon Roan Thurman-Hawke.

Thurman wore a pale blue dress and matching shoes, while Hawke escorted his daughter down the aisle in a black suit.

Maya was later photographed walking through the city in a ruffled white gown paired with a feathered coat and vintage-style veil while her new husband Hutson wore a traditional tuxedo.

Other guests included Sam Nivola, who appeared alongside Hawke in the 2023 film Maestro, and Kathryn Newton, her co-star in the 2017 television adaptation of Little Women.

Hawke joined Stranger Things in 2019 during its third season, playing Robin Buckley, the quick-witted best friend of Keery’s character Steve Harrington.

The series concluded on New Year’s Day with its final episode, Chapter Eight: The Rightside Up.

Alongside her acting career, Hawke has continued to release music, collaborating frequently with Hutson on her recent albums, 2022’s Moss and Chaos Angel, which she released in 2024.

While the newlyweds never publicly confirmed their engagement, they were first romantically linked in 2023.

Speaking on The Zach Sang Show in June 2024, she said of their relationship: “It is awesome. I cannot recommend highly enough dating your friends. It’s the best.

“They know you, they understand that you are a person and a human being who has dated other people, who has dated them, who has feelings and is a living, breathing human, just a piece of paper for them to project their image of perfect girlfriend onto.”
