BENGALURU: Woes of students from Karnataka stuck in Ukraine have intensified as they are reportedly running out of food and drinking water.
Nandini AC, from Arakere in Tumakuru district and a second-year MBBS student at Kharkiv in Ukraine, is taking shelter with 19 other classmates in a bunker, and some of them are staying in a tunnel.
She said: "We ate puliyogare in the morning and two pieces of bread in the afternoon. We are left with one-and-a-half kg of rice and two litres of drinking water." She added: "Only one shop was opened in which groceries were out of stock."
"We are allowed to go to the hostel room from 8am to 11am. On Sunday, we can have breakfast but don't have anything to eat for lunch and dinner," Nandini added."We can hear heavy shelling hardly 3-4 km from the place we are staying in. Military trucks and tankers are camping in the area where we have taken shelter," Nandini said.
