Stowaway snake on Tui flight to London Gatwick vanishes after discovery

  • A snake was discovered on board a Tui aircraft after passengers disembarked a flight from Cancun, Mexico, to London Gatwick on 5 June.
  • An aircraft cleaner found the reptile, which a Tui spokesperson confirmed was not venomous.
  • The Boeing 787-9 Dreamliner was temporarily grounded, and traps were set, but the snake evaded capture and subsequently disappeared.
  • Aircraft operations resumed after expert advice suggested the snake had likely left the plane, with no passengers reporting seeing it during the journey.
  • A source told The Sun : “The sight of the snake almost gave the airline cleaners a heart attack. But by the time they had raised the alarm, the animal had disappeared.”
