On this week’s episode of The Jonathan Ross Show, host Jonathan is joined by hit-maker Stormzy who quizzes Hollywood actress Kate Hudson, on her most awkward sex scenes on screen.
The rapper and actress are also joined by comedian Roisin Conaty and singing legend Joan Armatrading.
During the show, Stormzy, 29, is asked about filming romantic scenes, in his hit video for Hide & Seek.
Lifting the lid on the steamy scenes, the award-winning artist explains: “Me and the team said it needs to be a high standard actor. I’m a rubbish actor.
"The idea of me going on set with someone that’s awkward and I’m awkward. We got Saffron Hocking in and she’s a true professional. She made me really comfortable and led the whole thing.”
Stormzy then asks Kate about how she managed to keep her cool during the many sex scenes she had shot throughout her incredible career.
“When I see sex scenes I’m like, ‘How do you lot do that?’ Of course it’s your job but… as your average punter, it looks extremely difficult. Can there be… arousal… everyone’s thought it," he asks.
To which Kate laughs: “Interesting question. I think it’s so mechanical and there’s so many people around.
"Usually they close the set and you kind of have to talk it out and the boys wear belts. It’s very… tucked. It kind of takes the fun out of it, I guess.
"Sometimes it’s more enjoyable than other times. It just depends on the circumstance and the safety that you feel with that actor and how safe the space feels. It can get awkward.”
Kate also speaks about her mum Goldie Hawn and what she’s like as a grandmother: “She’s hands on, ish… she’s like more of a tornado. She comes in, tornados in like rainbows and flowers and happiness and then she’s gone. And you’re like, ‘Where did mum go?’ All the fun stuff. We’re very co-dependant."
She adds: “She’s seven blocks from me. I actually bought the house I grew up in. My mum sold the house, we moved into another house, 12 years later I bought back my mum’s house. Such happy memories.”
And on the topic of being starstruck, Kate talks about meeting Bob Dylan and getting to know him a little when her ex-husband toured with him.
She reveals that he’s a great swimmer: “He’s a great swimmer. I was in Florida - it’s as random as it gets - I was sitting on a beach, I saw this man swimming way out in the ocean, and another man that looked like a bodyguard. He came out and he put this towel over him, he got closer and closer and I was like, ‘Oh my god, it’s Bob Dylan!’ He was swimming like a mile out."
