Scotland is set to be battered by rain this weekend as forecasters warn that the summer is over. The Met Office has extended it's yellow alert of parts of the west of Scotland, with heavy rain expected to cause travel disruption.
Up to four inches of rain could fall in a matter of hours as the weather front risks flooding homes, businesses and cutting off communities. The yellow weather warning is in place for the entirety of Saturday, and may impact Glasgow, where the first Old Firm clash of the season takes place this afternoon.
Southwest Scotland will be worst hit by the rain deluge which will travel across the Atlantic from Northern Ireland throughout Saturday. This will be swiftly followed by another round of heavy rain on Sunday.
