Melbourne NRL prop Tui Kamikamica is set to contest allegations he assaulted a woman outside a Brisbane hotel last year, with a two-day trial set for next month.
Police will allege the 27-year-old, whose full name is Erevonu Tuicaumatalevu Kamikamica, assaulted a 30-year-old woman in Fortitude Valley on November 13.
A hearing was set down for April 26 and 27 during a brief mention of Kamikamica's case in Brisbane Magistrates Court on Wednesday.
The Melbourne-based front row forward did not appear in court, with a town agent attending on behalf of his lawyer.
A warrant for Kamikamica's arrest was issued in January when he also failed to attend court, but has been placed on file until the next court date.
The trial was requested at the "earliest available date" after submissions were rejected, the court was told.
Six witnesses are expected to testify, with two sets of CCTV footage forming part of the evidence.
The matter has also been listed for review on April 13 ahead of the trial in the same court.
Kamikamica was stood down by the Storm in November after telling the club of the situation following a police investigation, almost a fortnight after the alleged incident.
He was cleared to return to training in December, but remains subject to the NRL no-fault stand-down policy as he prepares to fight the charge of assault occasioning bodily harm.
Kamikamica has played 55 NRL games and represented Fiji 12 times.
