Storm Malik power cut fears as Scots weather warnings upgraded to amber

Parts of Scotland could suffer power cuts as Storm Malik makes landfall this weekend, energy infrastructure bosses have warned.

Forecasters anticipate gusts of up to 80mph hitting parts of the country on Saturday.

The Met Office has issued one amber warning and two yellow weather warnings across all of Scotland on January 29, with yellow wind warnings also in place for the mainland on January 30 and 31.
