Met Eireann have issued two Status Orange warnings just days after Storm Eunice battered Ireland.
Storm Franklin will cause high seas and severe gusts over the next 24 hours.
The first Status Orange warning is for Clare and will be valid from noon today until midnight on Monday.
Met Eireann said: "Storm Franklin will cause gale force westerly winds with severe and damaging gusts. These winds combined with very high seas will lead to wave overtopping, which may result in coastal flooding."
A Status Orange Wind Warning has also been issued for Donegal, Leitrim and Sligo.
This will be in place from 11:00pm tonight until 7:00am tomorrow.
A Status Yellow wind warning for the rest of the country has also been issued, valid from 9:00am today until 9:00am Monday.
Met Eireann have warned that today will be wet and windy with thunderstorms and localised flooding forecast.
"Very windy and wet today with strong to near gale force westerly winds and severe gusts, especially along western and northern coasts, with very high seas leading to some coastal flooding.
"Rain will be widespread and heavy at times early on, leading to localised flooding, before clearing southeastwards to frequent showers through the afternoon.
"Some showers will be heavy with isolated thunderstorms and hail, with sleet possible later. After a mild start, it will turn much colder from the northwest after the rain clears with highest afternoon temperatures of 4 to 8 degrees."
