Storm Eunice: What time will the storm hit Dublin today?

The exact time that Storm Eunice will hit Dublin has been predicted by one of Ireland's top forecasters.

A Status Orange weather warning is in place for the capital with "significant winds" expected to batter the country.

However, Met Eireann's Evelyn Cusack said yesterday that the worst of the storm would be "quick and very short-lived."

She has now pinpointed the time that the devastating winds will be the most dangerous in Dublin.

Dublin will be hit with the worst of Storm Eunice at around 10:30am this morning.

Meterologists said Storm Eunice will most definitely hit Dublin and urged people to be prepared.

Keith Leonard, of the Emergency Coordination Group, told RTE this morning: "Absolutely [we expect the storm to reach Dublin this morning], the orange warnings are in place as far up as Dublin. So, the whole midlands and Dublin is going to experience some significant wind speeds this morning."

"Hopefully, that will have blown through by 12 o'clock today where most of the warnings will have expired at that stage."

Meanwhile, Met Eireann issued a new Status Yellow weather alert across the country, with hazardous driving conditions and snow build-ups expected into Saturday morning.

The weather warning read: "Falls of sleet and snow on Friday and Saturday with accumulations in some areas and icy stretches leading to hazardous driving conditions."

The warning was issued early on Friday morning and is valid until 10am on Saturday.
