Two weather warnings have been issued in Scotland for ice and wind as Storm Eunice batters the UK.
The ice warning is in force from 6pm today (Friday, February 18) until 9am tomorrow across most of Scotland, plus parts of northern England, Northern Ireland and Wales.
Much of Scotland is under the ice warning, including Edinburgh, Glasgow, Aberdeen and Stirling.
The second new weather warning is for strong winds in southwest Scotland in force until 6pm today as gusts could reach up to 75mph.
Icy stretches will develop following Storm Eunice's wintry showers, warned the Met Office, caused by wet and slushy roads freezing over as temperatures plunge this evening and overnight.
Likewise, BBC Scotland Weather warned of "hazardous" conditions on the roads today.
Scotland's fleet of gritters have been released and Scots can watch the live tracker - and spot the gritters' amazing names.

Ice weather warning
The Met Office warning says: "A mixture of wintry showers and clear spells are likely to lead to a cold night with some icy stretches developing on untreated surfaces."
Slips and falls are possible and road users should be careful of icy patches on some untreated roads, pavements and cycle paths.
The weather warning was issued by the Met Office around 10:45am this morning (Friday).
