The Avon and Somerset Local Resilience Forum has declared Storm Eunice a major incident due to the potential for severe disruption.
The Met Office has issued a red weather warning for extremely strong winds between 7am and midday on Friday, February 18 and the Environment Agency has issued a flood warning for Severn Beach, as well as flood alerts for Porlock Weir, along the Severn between Avonmouth and Sharpness and along the Avon into Bristol.
The storm has the potential to cause significant disruption and dangerous conditions along the length of the west coast of Somerset, through the Bristol Channel and Severn Estuary into Gloucestershire.

Another risk being highlighted by experts is that of 90mph gusts of wind causing coastal flooding and affecting trees and temporary structures. This could cause disruption to the road and rail network, as well as flights, power and communications systems.
Members of the public are being asked to avoid travelling on Friday morning wherever possible and to follow weather and travel bulletins on local radio, or check on local media websites.
You can check your area's risk of flooding on the Environment Agency's website and travel information will also be shared by National Highways, Travel Somerset, Travel West or you can check with your local transport provider.
Emergency services, local authorities, National Highways and other voluntary and statutory agencies are on stand-by to put well-rehearsed plans into place.
You can report trees which have fallen into a major road to National Highways and on local roads to your local authority.
Most of Bristol is covered by an amber wind warning tomorrow, but the red warning affects Avonmouth and other locations along the Severn Estuary. Despite the city centre still being 'amber', gusts of up to 64mph are still forecast in Bristol tomorrow morning, the same as in Avonmouth.
The Environment Agency has warned of a 'tidal surge' in coastal areas including in Somerset, Devon and Cornwall, with the South West expected to be worst-hit tomorrow.
