Three men were asked by the coastguard to get out of the water after they took a dip at New Brighton.
The three men were captured by ECHO and Press Association photographers apparently being asked to get out of the water near New Brighton lighthouse earlier today.
The swimmers were seen emerging from the water despite warnings over strong winds and high tides.

HM Coastguard were seen speaking with the men before apparently asking them to leave the water over safety concerns.
An amber weather warning has currently been issued for Merseyside as Storm Eunice batters the coastline.
The amber weather warning has been in place for "extremely strong winds" since 3am on Friday, February 18 as Storm Eunice hits Merseyside.
The warning is in place until 9pm on Friday and forecasters predicts there is a "good chance that flying debris could result in a danger to life."
A "stay indoors" warning has been issued by the Met Office who stated there could be a "danger to life" as a result of the extremely strong winds.
Wirral Council earlier closed the whole of the front of New Brighton from Harrison Drive to Rowson Road because of safety concerns.
The council warned parts of the borough would be experiencing wave topping and warned people to avoid areas with large waves.
The lifeboat station at Hoylake also tweeted high tide was over a metre above its predicted height because of the storm surge.
Earlier today HM Coastguard issued a plea for people to stay away from the coast due to reports of people taking pictures of the waves.
HM Coastguard Tactical Commander Ben Hambling said: “The reports we are receiving are absolutely terrifying. In these conditions all it takes is one wave.
“We are urging people in the strongest possible terms to stay away from the coast.”
